On 25th July 2026, Don Bosco School CBSE, Borivli, Savio Kindergarten organised a Phonics Workshop for the parents of Nursery and Jr. KG students. The workshop was conducted by the experienced phonics trainer, Ms. Salome D’Souza, who guided parents on the importance of phonics in developing children’s reading, writing, and pronunciation skills.

The session was highly interactive, with parents participating in activities that focused on identifying individual letter sounds and blending them to form words. Ms. Salome demonstrated the correct pronunciation of sounds and explained effective techniques that parents can use at home to strengthen their child’s learning. Parents actively participated and gained a better understanding of the phonics programme followed in the classroom.

A special highlight of the workshop was the engaging Jolly Phonics videos and actions, which made learning enjoyable and memorable. Parents enthusiastically joined in the actions and realised how movement and music make phonics fun for young learners.

The workshop concluded on a positive note, with parents expressing their appreciation for the informative and practical session. They found it beneficial and felt more confident in supporting their children’s literacy development at home.
